At our childcare facility, we offer respite services to provide families with temporary relief from caregiving responsibilities. Through the Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) program, we collaborate with eligible families to deliver personalized support based on each child’s unique needs. FSCD funding covers various respite options, including hourly care and 24-48 hour overnight stays, ensuring families receive the assistance they require.
As of April 2025, Alberta introduced a new province-wide funding model for licensed child care facilities implemented through the Canada-Alberta Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CACWELCC) Agreement. This model has replaced the traditional subsidy program with a flat-rate system, making fees more predictable and accessible for all families.
At our centre, we follow the provincially regulated maximum standard fees, which reflect the government’s current child care affordability framework. These fees are structured by usage, ensuring fairness and flexibility for families.
